Currently residing in Denton Texas, Shannon N. West graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of Houston in 2019 with a concentration in painting before enrolling in the University of North Texas in pursuit of a masters degree in 2021. Shannon’s work is an exploration of gender and sexual identity through the use of historically assigned metaphors dissecting the intersection of life, animals, fruits, and objects. Their desire is to introduce familiarity to feelings of repulsion and exploration. Their work has been shown in multiple group shows in Texas venues including Artspace 111 and The MAC Gallery.
